John Bennett, President of Integrated Fire Protection, said, “Keeping one of the most prestigious social clubs in the South safe for its members was the highest priority, as well as maintaining normal business operations for their elite membership base.”  High temperature cooking comes with an increased risk in fire hazards, so we designed a custom kitchen suppression system that is focused on detection and extinguishing any potential fires in the duct, plenum, appliances and in the kitchen hood, commented Bennett.

“Because Capital City Club is located in a historical building, installation of its kitchen suppression system allowed us to showcase our creative talents for specialized projects at unique venues,while at the same time respecting the integrity of the building,” noted Bennett.

While the experience was great for business, the best part for us was seeing familiar faces and forging new relationships.

“These relationships constitute the people that make our careers as a fire protection life safety company rewarding,” President John Bennett said. “With busy schedules, it was great to take the time to reconnect, reminisce and connect with new professionals.”

We know that first impressions mean a lot, so we put our best foot forward to establish a connection with a myriad people, as they certainly made a great impression on us, Bennett said.

While two of Integrated Fire Protection’s (www.integratedfireprotection.com) employees are represented on the board, we also wanted to support (for the second year) the Reed Sorenson Charity Golf Classic.  Even though our team didn’t come in first place, it was evident who will….dozens of local charitable organizations that serve the medical, emotional and social needs of children in Atlanta.

Just before and during the recent NASCAR race at AMS, Speedway Children’s Charities/Atlanta Chapter raised funds through a series of events, including the Golf Classic, NASCAR memorabilia auction (bid on sheet metal and other NASCAR-related items), Track Walk (walk with NASCAR drivers around the famous Atlanta Motor Speedway prior to the race on Sunday) and Hot Laps on the High Banks (drive your own vehicle around the 1.54-mile Atlanta Motor Speedway track).  In the end, the Atlanta Chapter raised more than $80,000 for locally based children’s charities.

That is why Integrated Fire Protection is proud to introduce our own in house Fire Alarm Division!  The new in-house division will encompass Fire Alarm inspection and testing services, monitoring, CCTV and access control.  IFP can now self perform all fire extinguisher, kitchen suppression, exit and emergency lighting, fire sprinkler, and fire alarm services in house with our licensed staff members!

We knew that if we were going to make this move, it had to be at the right time and involve the perfect people to fill that spot.  So at this time we would like introduce the perfect person for the job- Marty Carr.  Marty (pictured below) comes to Integrated Fire Protection with many years of industry experience and all the essential NICET certifications to give our customers the peace of mind they are getting knowledgeable, qualified, and professional support.  To support Marty, we have a technician base that carries some of the highest credentials acheivable for our Fire Alarm Divsion.

With the addition of the Fire Alarm division, it will be essential for Integrated Fire Protection to keep up with the increased demand.  IFP would therefore like to welcome Joe McVay (pictured below) as our newest Sales Executive.  As always, great consideration was made in selecting this top notch addition!

While at the front of the property and examining the vault, Shawn McMichen noticed some thick, black smoke billowing up from one of the buildings in the apartment community. After readjusting their perspective, Clinton Reed could tell this was a substantial fire. The maintenance technician for the complex started running towards the fire as Clinton and Shawn jumped in their truck to the scene.

By the time they arrived, flames were reaching up the sides of the building. The smoke was intense and had engulfed the breezeway. Knowing that in the breezeway were fire extinguishers, Clinton ran through the smoke into the breezeway, broke the glass, pulled out the fire extinguisher and ran back coming back through the near flames and black smoke. After pulling the pin and discharging the extinguisher, Clinton noticed he’d been joined by the maintenance technician with another extinguisher. Together the 3 put out the entire fire by sweeping the dry chemical away from the apartments and finally completely extinguishing it in the grass.

Further examination revealed a simple black and mild had been the culprit. Not soon after the fire department showed up to a surprising scene. The fire was out, the building was saved, and potential lives spared. The fire department confirmed these men did a “wonderful job” and confirmed that because they were able to extinguish the fire soon enough and the insulation did not ignite- this literally saved the building! All that was left for them to do was spray some water mist to wet the ground to prevent any flare ups.

Although the landscaping was torched and the vinyl siding melted, it was a small price to pay. The management company was ecstatic to say the least.

When asked about their quick thinking, Clinton Reed affirmed that “we were in the right place at the right time, and had the training, and experience needed to act fast in an emergency situation such as this.”
